We created the R&D dermocosmetics laboratory in 2001 to develop high-quality, personalised skin products to be prescribed by both dermatologists and pharmacists. We wanted to create dermocosmetics products which were innovative, safe and effective for all skin conditions and types.
We have focused on the development of the biomembrane, an innovative technology in the field of dermocosmetics which acts as a vehicle to deliver active ingredients deeper into the skin.
Together with the Pharmacy Faculty of the University of Valencia (Spain), we have focused our efforts on the development of the biomembrane, a new technology in the field of dermocosmetics. Biomembrane technology enables the transport of active ingredients in multilamellar layers, allowing them to penetrate deeper into the skin while bringing greater stability and flexibility to the formula.
Our quality control system is ISO 22716 certified and follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines.
Our story starts with Nuria Ortí, a pharmacist and the founder of Kuora Laboratories. People very close to Nuria suffered from psoriasis and were unable to find a product to help with the condition. So Nuria decided to research and formulate a dermocosmetic solution herself which would provide a definitive cure for the skin disorder affecting her loved ones. This was how she began to specialize in these types of skin conditions.
The foundations of our brand, philosophy and Kuora Dermocosmetics products are a select group of tried and tested, high-quality active ingredients, used in just the right amount in each product. When combined, these ingredients respond specifically and effectively to different needs, depending on the condition of the skin.
A new dermocosmetic approach to the transport of active ingredients
Many products which are applied topically do not penetrate the skin and a large amount remains on the skin surface. Other products penetrate aggressively, causing harm by entering the blood stream.
Our laboratories have developed a dermocosmetic line containing biomembranes, multilamellar structures which hydrate the skin upon contact and generate liposomes, vesicles which adapt to the texture and pore size of any type of skin, considerably increasing the absorption and efficacy of the active ingredients.
The active ingredients transported in biomembranes are more effective because 90% of them penetrate the skin. This means a small amount of active ingredient transported in the biomembrane is far more effective, faster-acting and safer.
KUORA biomembrane line
Every day our laboratories work on the transport of active ingredients in biomembranes which considerably increase the efficacy of our dermocosmetic products.
